Thank you! What a beautiful reminder to put down the bright screen of gloom and doom and look into someone’s eyes and smile. Let’s keep reaching for each other in the dark
Yay, Lyndsey! Anna sent this to me and I am glad she did….I felt so much better this morning after finding an Indivisible Meeting scheduled for next week near me and a more under the radar meeting of another group I signed up for…Also donated a small amount to the 3 special Congressional elections happening this spring in NY and FL…Have been speaking up in church too….
Have you read On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder? If not, I think you would like it….
Hi hi Marianne! (hi Anna!) Love hearing about what you're up to. Thank you! I read On Tyranny a few weeks ago and have really been enjoying Snyder's Substack, too.
Anna read it too after she got it for me for Christmas and one came to my house and one to hers by mistake! Ha! I didn’t realize he had a Substack…I’ll look for him!
really interesting, thank you for articulating this so nicely! i do see a ton of people leaving various platforms and re-examining their relationships online vs IRL since the election. I guess that's a silver lining of all this.
I respect you so much, Lyndsey, because you have been doing this through every type of administration. Everyone increasingly wants to turn activism into content, but this is what will change our communities, no matter who is in office.
Thank you for seeing me in this, Tabitha. I've seen up close how the activism-as-content has become really destructive from so many angles. And also how the activism-as-community-resilience is just so life-giving and worthwhile!
THIS calmed my limbic system and made me feel seen. Thank you, Lyndsey!
Hello Jenn! Hello body! Hello solidarity!

“The answer must be just beyond the bottom of my scroll”

I sure hope so! And I hope that will be a further consequence of whatever reckonings/struggles await us in the next few years...
