Hi! Happy November!
Last December I was sitting immobile on my couch, feeling like the world and the Church were about to leave me behind.
I’ve slowly begun to share over the last year that Nate and I are living in a season of unexplained infertility. By last Christmas, we’d already been waiting so long. I was grateful that the Christian liturgical year has a season just for our longings; but when it lasts for less than four busy weeks, it also feels a little too cute.
After all, I lived through a cycle of waiting, hope, grief, and waiting again every four to six weeks of the entire year.
That day I started writing the ebook I’m sending you now.
At times I wanted to abandon this project. Some days I don’t much want to believe any of it. It’s been emotional and hard and forced me to ask questions that feel too hard for a Wednesday afternoon. It’s tiring to try and share about infertility while also keeping hold of some privacy.
And. These pages feel hard-fought; somehow already well-worn; hope-drenched and freely given. Writing them has inspired me to pray, to dream, to trust God, to make some peace with in-betweens.
And. This book has already sparked connections, questions, and conversations I didn’t expect and have thoroughly enjoyed.
And. My dear friend from college sat on her couch today and read it all in one go. And partway through, she said, “This is what it means to hear from God and to share what you hear.” (Because she is the kind of person I want to be like, who sees people deeply and calls out to them what she sees.)
I am so very excited to share this ebook with you. Click here to download it! This page/file will go away sometime during Advent, so if you think you want a copy, make sure you download before then.
May these last months of the year envelop you in comfort and joy.
peace, love, bread, and wine,
Lyndsey
